Social Isolation and Loneliness Awareness Week

Last week we celebrated Social Isolation and Loneliness Awareness Week with three webinars, resources, and many campaigns to spread the word about this public health crisis and how we all can help get people more socially connected across Wisconsin.

For those of you who would like to watch the webinars from last week, here are the links to the three different webinars:

Webinar #1 (November 14): Community Voices

Webinar #2 (November 15): Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation

Webinar #3 (November 17): Improving Social Connections in Homebound Older Adults

The PowerPoint used by Kris Krasnowski on November 15 with great information from the US Surgeon General’s 2023 Advisory titled “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation.”

You can find additional resources including press releases, graphics, and more on our website under Isolation and Loneliness and the Awareness Week Resources dropdown.

We all know that social isolation and loneliness does not just impact people at certain times, so please continue to use the information provided throughout the year.

THANKS to everyone who attended and participated in the webinars. THANKS to everyone who got the word out about how people can help others get more socially connected! On behalf of WCESIL, we appreciate your efforts within your local communities across the state to combat social isolation and loneliness and help others find meaningful connections in a variety of ways!

Take care, stay connected, and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
