Fit and Strong!

Fit and Strong! combines flexibility, strength training, and aerobic walking with health education for sustained behavior change among older adults with lower extremity osteoarthritis.  This eight-week evidence-based program has been proven to:

• Help participants maintain independent functioning
• Reduce and manage arthritis symptoms
• Learn a variety of exercises while gradually increasing the frequency, duration, and intensity over time
• Gain a better understanding of osteoarthritis and how physical activity can help

Older adults with lower-extremity joint pain and stiffness related to osteoarthritis


Where is it available?

Developed at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the program is not currently offered in Wisconsin.
